Do Not Judge
As I was coming home one day recently, I saw a sign
on a church that said "God is listening" My question to all of you
today is this, "Are you listening to God?"
In God's word it tells us what we are supposed to
do and not supposed to do when someone hurts us.
Matt. 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
Matt. 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall
be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to
Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged:
condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall
Here we find that Jesus is telling us that we are
not to judge others. You may ask, Pastor, what are we supposed to
do when someone hurts us? God's word the Bible has the answer for
you. You are to forgive them.
Luke 17:3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother
trespass (sin) against thee, rebuke (correct) him; and if he repent,
Gal.6:1 None of us are perfect. Because we all sin
we need to do what it says in
James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and
pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent
prayer (praying according to God's will) of a righteous man availeth
In Col. 3:13 we find that we are to forgive others
the same as Christ forgave us.
We all do things that later we wish we did not do.
We can all say like Paul in Romans 7:18-19
Romans 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my
flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me;
but how to perform that which is good I find not.
Romans 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but
the evil which I would not, that I do.
We are just like Paul, we want to do good, but we
can't do good, and we do not want to do evil, but that is what we
do. The reason is because we are human.
Now don't use that as excuse to not listen and obey
God, because remember we have God in us and he is more powerful
than the devil.
