The Friendly Baptist Deaf Church of Hutchinson, Kansas had its first service on July 16, 2006 after many, many months of prayer, also praying for a deaf pastor. The church had asked Bro. Leonard Lickteig to be their pastor, which on that date Bro. Lickteig having a God given love for the deaf agreed to be their pastor. Bro. Lickteig felt that the deaf needed to be able to have a church of their own so that they could grow spiritually, Also, able to be church clerk, trustee, song leader, special singer, and missionaries or whatever God called them to do. They were also encouraged to pay their tithes, offerings, and missions giving.

On July 22,2007 we had our dedication / organization service at which time 14 joined as charter members. At that service there was 23 members from Silent Bible Baptist Church and 7 members from Countryside Baptist Church to celebrate with us. We are now a fully established separate deaf church.

We wish to thank Bro. Ron Wilcoxson and his ministry for all the work and support he has shown and given. Also, Countryside Baptist Chirch for allowing us to continue meeting in their building.
